St Elizabeth businessman charged with housebreaking and larceny
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — A farmer and businessman from Seven Corners, Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth has been charged with housebreaking and larceny, and receiving stolen property following an intelligence-led police operation in the parish.
Rolick Ffrench, 50, was charged in connection with a break-in that occurred between about 9:00 pm on May 24 and 6:15 am on May 25 in Watchwell district, St Elizabeth.
Police said that on May 29, officers carried out an intelligence-led operation at Ffrench’s home, where a search warrant was executed based on information linking him to the incident.
During the search, law enforcement officers reportedly seized six poker box circuit boards, a poker box bill acceptor, a touchscreen poker box monitor, a black American Roulette gaming machine with red stripes, a green and grey Total water pump, and a blue and black Westinghouse WGen 5300 SC generator.
Investigators said Ffrench was unable to lawfully account for possession of the items.
He was subsequently taken into custody and interviewed in relation to the seizure before being charged with the offences.
Meanwhile, the St Elizabeth police reported that break-ins declined by 43 per cent in 2026 when compared with the corresponding period in 2025.
The police are also urging individuals who have had poker boxes stolen to make checks with the Black River Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
