HANOVER, Jamaica — The US citizen charged with the murder of his partner who was found dead in a rental house in Hanover on Monday was remanded in custody when he made an appearance in the Hanover Parish Court on Friday.
Charged with murder and breaches of the immigration act is 36-year-old Aldean Jermaine Blake, otherwise known as Dean who is allegedly originally from Jamaica.

It is understood that Blake, the holder of a United States passport who has been in Jamaica since October 5 of last year, should have left the island on April 3.
Blake was charged with the murder of 33-year-old Kadian ‘Kadi’ Bradshaw of Tampa, Florida and Bulls Bay in Hanover.
The couple and a young baby believed to be their child were staying in the Bulls Bay area of the parish at a house used for rental at the time of the incident.
Blake was represented in court by attorney-at-law, Tamika Davis, who is also the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Hanover Western.
On Friday, the prosecutor requested more time to go through the files, claiming that she had received the case files the morning of the court hearing that day, and as a result she did not get enough time to go through the files to respond to a bail application made by Davis.
While June 8 was suggested as a possible new mention date, the investigating officer requested more time to verify a number of details, including that while Blake referred to the deceased woman as his wife, checks are being made to determine if there is a marriage certificate.
Davis told Observer Online that she is hoping to get an antecedent report prepared by the police by the next court date set for Friday, June 12.
Police reports indicate that around 2:00 am, Bradshaw and Blake had an altercation at their place of dwelling when she was injured.
It is further understood that people became concerned and called the police after seeing the man walking along the main road towards Lucea with the baby in the predawn hours.
The swift actions of the police led to the man being held by the police.
