Prodigal Son launches new album today
Gospel deejay Prodigal Son released his début album in 2001. Now, 25 years later, and after releasing multiple projects and hit songs, Prodigal Son is set to launch his latest album
Legacy on Saturday June 6 at Swallowfield Chapel in St Andrew.
The launch event will feature performances by gospel acts Jason Mighty, Shepherd, Monty G, Leoniel Teape, Positive, Marclyn McFarlane, and American gospel singer JoZee.
“Legacy is not about fame, it is about purpose, impact, and leaving footprints of faith for others to follow,” Prodigal Son told the Jamaica Observer on Thursday.
“This album has 11 tracks, and it is very personal to me. I went back to my roots and worked with Danny Browne on this project. We also have some talented musicians who we worked with like Sly Dunbar and Lenky,” she said.
Legacy, the artiste said, offers a message centred on personal development, faith, and the ongoing process of transformation.
According to Prodigal Son, this phase is less about reinvention and more about impact.
“This is not just about music. It is about legacy. It is about what remains when the noise fades,” he shared.
With a career spanning over 20 years, Prodigal Son continues to use his platform to bridge faith and culture, delivering music that speaks not only to believers, but to anyone searching for purpose, direction, and hope.
As he steps into this new season, he is firm on message.
“Purpose never dies. At the launch, you’ll experience a new re-energised Prodigal Son, doing business for the King,” he stated.
