KINGSTON, Jamaica — New York-based reggae artiste Brooky Danger is encouraging listeners to remain hopeful and motivated despite the challenges of modern life with his uplifting new single, Joy Within My Soul.

The conscious entertainer said the inspiration for the song came from observing the realities unfolding around the world and the need for people to find strength within themselves.

“The day-to-day activities that are taking place across the world inspired the song,” Brooky Danger explained.

Through the track, the artiste hopes to inspire listeners to approach life with a positive mindset, regardless of the obstacles they may face.

“I want people to be motivated to go about their daily life,” he said.

For Brooky Danger, the message is deeply personal. While acknowledging the many difficulties people encounter, he believes maintaining optimism is essential.

“It is very personal, but as a leader I am always optimistic,” he shared.

The singer said the greatest source of joy in his own life is simply being alive and healthy.

“Just the fact that I am alive and well,” he stressed.

Originally from Jamaica and now residing in New York, Brooky Danger credits life in the United States for expanding his perspective and giving him a broader range of experiences to draw from in his songwriting.

“It has influenced me in terms of widening my knowledge base so I am able to see more, so I have more to write about,” he explained.

Although Joy Within My Soul highlights themes of hope and encouragement, Brooky Danger says the song does not represent a departure from his usual style.

“No, I am always a positive person,” he said.

The artiste revealed that releasing a conscious and uplifting record at this particular moment was a deliberate decision.

“Because of what is going through, it was intentional,” he noted.

The response from fans in Jamaica and across the diaspora has exceeded expectations.

“The response has been overwhelming, hence I have been very busy putting things together,” he said.

Brooky Danger believes positive and culturally grounded music deserves greater support and visibility.

“I think that the exciting cultural music that is here needs to get more publishing,” he said.

At the same time, he acknowledged one of the major challenges conscious artistes face in today’s music industry.

“Sad to say, more people gravitate towards negativity,” he stated.

The artiste also emphasised the important role New York has played in his development as a musician.

Among the artistes who have influenced his style are dancehall icon Bounty Killer and reggae superstar Buju Banton.

Describing himself as “a very versatile reggae artiste,” Brooky Danger said recording Joy Within My Soul was an enjoyable experience and confirmed that more music is already on the way.

Looking ahead, the entertainer hopes to expand his reach internationally while using music to make a positive impact on others.

“My long-term goals are to be touring and helping as many people as possible,” he said.
