Months-long NWC leak finally repaired after customer seeks help
Dear Claudienne,
We are the owners of an apartment unit in a development in the Kingston 6 area. Some time last year a leak developed in the water pipe leading to the meter. The connection is located on the driveway at the entrance to the unit. My account # is XXX.
On September 11, 2025, my husband visited National Water Commission (NWC) and made a report. No one came to address the problem. On January 20, 2026 he again visited NWC to report the matter. Eventually, in February a team came and said they did not have the right tools to effect the repairs so they left saying they would return.
They have not returned and up to the time of writing, March 22, 2026, the leak has not been fixed. The problem has gotten worse and water is continually flowing onto the roadway and creating a mess and inconvenience not only to us but to the other occupants of adjoining units.
We inquired if we could have the leak repaired ourselves but were told no as we would be trespassing on the works of NWC since the leak occurs on their side of the meter and not ours.
We are very frustrated and would appreciate your assistance in this matter.
Thank you.
CS
