Lucea goes after third-straight win in JFF Championship qualifying
LUCEA will today seek a third-straight win in the Jamaica Football Championships Qualifying when they host Faulkland in a Group D game at the Colin Miller Sports Complex in Lucea.
Lucea have won both games played so far, beating Russia and Coopers Pen, and will face a Faulkland team looking to bounce back after a surprise loss in their opening game.
Faulkland were expected to be among the stronger teams in the qualifying competition but were upset 2-0 at home by Coopers Pen on Saturday and will be hoping to get their campaign back on track.
Lucea have conceded just one goal in two games and are coming off a 5-0 win over Russia on Sunday. They will again look to Aquille Brown, Romario Atkinson and Eshane Brown for goals.
Also in Group D, Coopers Pen will seek a second straight win when they travel to face Russia, who have lost both of their matches.
The lead in Group C will be at stake when Cross United and Mile Gully, both on three points and separated by goal difference, meet at Singh Quarry.
Both teams have beaten Vineyard, with Mile Gully winning 2-0 while Cross United edged a 3-2 contest.
In Group A, Browns Town and Cedar Grove Estate will both be seeking their first win after drawing their opening matches.
York United lead the group with two points and another drawn result would leave all three teams level on points.
Kings Football Academy and Portlanders will both be chasing points in Group B when they meet at Drax Hall.
A win for Kings would see them move level with leaders Axum on four points, while Portlanders will be hoping to recover from defeat in their only game so far.
