Brianna Lyston wins 100m in Holland
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Jamaica’s Brianna Lyston clocked 10.99 seconds (-0.6m/s) to win the women’s 100m at Sunday’s FannyBlankers-Koen (FBK) Games in Hengelo, Netherlands, a World Athletics Continental Tour – Gold.
Less than a week after running 11.18 seconds in Ostrava, Czechia, the former World Under-20 200m champion recorded her second sub- 11.00 seconds clocking of the year.
Minke Bisschops of the Netherlands was second in 11.08 seconds and Ana Azevedo of Brazil finished third with 11.26 seconds.
Many-time Jamaican national champion Danniel Thomas-Dodd was fourth in the women’s shot put with a best mark of 18.65m.
World leader Jessica Schilder of the Netherlands won with 20.03m, beating compatriot Jorinde Van Klinken- 19.34m, with Portugal’s Jessica Inchude third with 18.83m.
Olympic champion Roje Stona was fifth in the men’s discus throw with 65.22m as Germany’s Henrik Janssen won with 68.21m, Claudio Romero of Chile was second with 67.61m and Lawrence Okoye of Great Britain was third with 66.10m.
