Snatcha salutes baby mothers with new single
Reggae singjay Snatcha is paying tribute to the strength, sacrifice and resilience of women with his latest single, My Baby Mother, a heartfelt song that recognises the efforts of mothers who work tirelessly to raise their children.
A humble African from the community of Rock Hall in St Andrew, Snatcha developed a passion for music at the age of 11 and has remained committed to the craft ever since.
“I developed a love for music from an early age, and that love has kept me on the journey,” he said.
Known for his distinctive singjay style, Snatcha cites reggae and dancehall icons Pliers, Buju Banton, Capleton, Richie Spice, Spanner Banner and Pinchers among the artistes who have influenced his sound.
His latest release, My Baby Mother, was inspired by both personal experiences and observations of the challenges many women face while raising children.
“I see the struggles some women go through to raise their kids, and I felt I had to say something about it,” he explained.
The song carries a simple but powerful message: love women and treat them with respect.
“Most songs celebrate mothers, but not many specifically acknowledge baby mothers and the sacrifices they make. I wanted to give them the recognition they deserve,” Snatcha said.
My Baby Mother was produced by Freedom Trail Reggae and released on June 12, 2026. The single is distributed by Music Embassies, based in Florida.
The recording process was surprisingly effortless, with the artiste revealing that the song was completed in a single take.
“I went into the studio and sang it straight through from start to finish. One take and it was done,” he recalled.
Since its release, the track has been receiving encouraging feedback from listeners.
“The response has been great. It’s a good look,” he said.
Like many artistes, Snatcha has faced his share of obstacles throughout his career. However, he remains determined to push forward while staying true to his purpose.
“The journey has been rough at times, but we keep moving and doing Jah’s work. One thing I’ve learned from the business is the importance of getting the paperwork done properly,” he said.
Looking ahead, the artiste hopes to create music that resonates across cultures and generations.
“My goal is to record a song that the whole world can sing along to,” he stressed.
Fans can also expect more music in the near future, including an upcoming EP from Freedom Trail Productions.
For now, Snatcha hopes listeners will embrace the message behind My Baby Mother and add the song to their playlists.
“It’s an uplifting song for all baby mothers out there. I want people to appreciate them, respect them and recognise the important role they play in our lives,” he stated.
