‘Roaring Lion’ tops 799,000 YouTube views as Cashan prepares to unveil debut album

Jamaican recording artiste Cashan is entering the biggest week of her career, with her Richie Spice collaboration Roaring Lion surpassing 799,000 YouTube views ahead of Friday’s release of her debut album, Here Comes Cashan.

She has also released Changes, a socially conscious single featuring Yaksta that highlights many of the issues affecting society while offering a message of resilience and hope.

“Changes is one of my favourite songs on the album because it speaks to the issues we’re facing as a people today,” Cashan said. “Having Yaksta on the track brought another level of fire and authenticity. Now that it’s out and the album is just days away, I’m excited, grateful and proud. I can’t wait for the world to hear what we’ve created.”

Set for release on June 26, Here Comes Cashan is a 13-track project that Cashan believes reflects the future of roots reggae.
“This isn’t just another reggae album,” she stated. “It’s the voice of a new generation of roots reggae, where rebel spirit, Jamaican culture and modern street energy come together. I stayed true to reggae’s foundation while bringing my own perspective and sound.”

The album features Yaksta, Richie Spice, Louie Culture and Topman.

“It means everything to me. These are some of Jamaica’s finest recording artistes, and having them believe in my vision is a blessing. Every song came together naturally, and I believe we created music people will be listening to for years. If we’re talking Grammys, this album has that level of quality.”

Beyond the music, Cashan hopes listeners leave inspired.

“I want people to leave with a sense of hope, strength and pride. Here Comes Cashan is about staying true to yourself, overcoming obstacles, and carrying reggae music forward with a fresh voice while respecting its roots.”

While a Grammy remains one of her ambitions, Cashan says her ultimate goal is to become one of the defining voices of modern reggae.

“Winning a Grammy is definitely one of my goals, but it’s about much more than an award. I want to establish myself as one of the leading voices in modern reggae music, represent Jamaica with pride, tour the world and create music that will stand the test of time.”

Released through TempleBoss Records and distributed by ONErpm, Here Comes Cashan marks the arrival of an emerging talent determined to carry reggae music to a new generation of listeners.

“I’m ready for the world,” she said. “This album is my introduction. From here, the only direction is forward.”
