Danny Glover reveals Alzheimer’s diagnosis
Lethal Weapon actor Danny Glover has revealed that he has been living with Alzheimer’s disease for several years, opening up publicly about his diagnosis for the first time, according to media reports.
In a report from The Guardian, the 79-year-old star said the condition has changed aspects of his life but insisted he remains determined to keep moving forward.
“I don’t feel like it’s the end of my life. There’s work to do. Your life continues,” Glover said.
The actor acknowledged that accepting the diagnosis has been difficult and said he knows the disease will continue to progress, bringing further changes over time. However, he expressed gratitude for the support of his family and friends as he navigates the illness.
Glover’s daughter, Mandisa, said the family first noticed changes in his memory several years ago, prompting medical evaluations that ultimately led to the diagnosis.
Best known for his roles in the Lethal Weapon film series and The Color Purple, Glover has enjoyed a career spanning more than four decades. In addition to acting, he has long been recognised for his humanitarian work and advocacy on social justice issues.
Despite his diagnosis, Glover said he remains committed to using his platform to inspire others and continue contributing where he can.
