Masicka announces new album

...booked to headline Barclays Center’s Reggae Fest

Dancehall star Masicka is preparing for what could be one of the biggest weekends of his career, announcing the release of his forthcoming album, Forever Reign, on August 14, followed by his début headlining performance at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center during Reggae Fest on August 15.

The back-to-back milestones mark another major step in the Jamaican entertainer’s international ascent, as he continues to expand his reach beyond the Caribbean while helping to elevate dancehall on the global stage.

News of the Barclays Center booking drew widespread industry attention, with Billboard first reporting the announcement, highlighting the significance of Masicka becoming one of the featured headliners at one of New York City’s premier entertainment venues.

Speaking about the upcoming album, Masicka described Forever Reign as a reflection of both his personal and artistic evolution.

“This album represents growth, elevation, and the next chapter of my journey,” he said.

“Every project is an opportunity to tell my story differently, and I’m excited for fans around the world to hear where I am creatively. To then celebrate that release by performing at Barclays Center the very next day makes the moment even more special,” the artiste continued.

The announcement comes during what many fans have dubbed “Sicka Summer”, as the deejay continues to build momentum with a string of releases that have resonated with audiences across the Caribbean, North America, the United Kingdom, and parts of Africa.

Over the past several years, Masicka has established himself among dancehall’s leading lyricists through projects including 438, Generation of Kings, and the Caribbean Music Awards-nominated EP Her Name Is Love. His growing profile has extended beyond music through the work of his MADE Foundation and his appointment as cultural ambassador for youth talent development in Antigua and Barbuda.

For the Portmore, St Catherine-born artiste, headlining Barclays Center represents another milestone in a career marked by consistent growth and an expanding international fan base.

While details surrounding Forever Reign, including the full track list and featured collaborations, are expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks, anticipation is already building for an album that many expect to be another defining chapter in Masicka’s catalogue.
