NSWMA dismisses reports Tank-Weld donated water trucks to the agency
KINGSTON, Jamaica—The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) has moved to dismiss what the agency has described as ‘misleading reports’ that Tank-Weld Equipment Limited reportedly donated four water trucks to the agency.
NSWMA in a press release on Thursday said the report is factually incorrect and far from the truth.
“The NSWMA wishes to make it abundantly clear that Tank-Weld Equipment Limited did not donate the four water trucks,” the NWSMA said.
“The authority procured and fully paid for the four water trucks as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its operational capacity and improve sanitation and public cleansing services across Jamaica.”
NSWMA said the vehicles were officially handed over by Desmond McKenzie, minister of Local Government and Community Development, during a handover ceremony held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
“While the NSWMA acknowledges Tank-Weld Equipment Limited as the supplier of the vehicles, it is important to note that at no time did the authority solicited or received any donation from Tank-weld Equipment Limited,” it added.
