JMMB invites women entrepreneurs to apply for PowHERful Women in Business programme
The JMMB Group, through its SME Resource Centre, is inviting women entrepreneurs in Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago to take the next step in their personal and professional journey by applying for the fourth cohort of its PowHERful Women in Business Programme.
In a recent statement, the group said the six-month initiative is designed to empower women to thrive not only as business owners, but also as leaders, wealth-builders and changemakers in their communities.
Built around the theme Your Business, Your Life, Your Wealth, the programme recognises that behind every successful enterprise is a woman balancing multiple responsibilities, ambitions and aspirations.
JMMB says through a unique blend of business development support, financial guidance, personal growth opportunities and professional coaching, participants are equipped with the tools and resources needed to create sustainable success in every area of their lives.
Participants in the programme will engage in workshops, coaching sessions and activities designed to strengthen their entrepreneurial capabilities while also helping them build financial resilience, improve decision-making, and gain greater confidence as leaders. Each participant begins with a personalised needs-discovery session to identify immediate priorities and long-term goals, enabling the programme to provide support tailored to her unique circumstances.
Speaking on the value of the initiative, Shani Duncan-Falconer, Senior Corporate Manager, JMMB Group SME Resource Centre, emphasised that the programme is about supporting the whole entrepreneur.
“The PowHERful Women in Business Programme is rooted in the belief that when women are empowered, businesses, families and communities prosper. We understand that women entrepreneurs often wear many hats, and that building a successful business is only one part of their journey,” Duncan-Falconer said.
“Through this programme, we provide the guidance, resources and supportive community needed to help participants strengthen their businesses, build wealth, protect what matters most and confidently pursue their goals,” she continued, adding “Our greatest reward is seeing women leave the programme with a stronger sense of purpose, greater confidence and a clearer vision for their future.”
Participants are slated to benefit from access to discounted professional services through the SME Resource Centre’s network of partners, as well as specially curated JMMB solutions focused on business growth, financial protection, wealth creation and retirement planning.
Additional benefits include offers on merchant services, insurance solutions, pension products and other resources designed to support both their entrepreneurial and personal aspirations.
The group noted that the programme also continues to honour the legacy of the late Joan Duncan, co-founder of JMMB and one of Jamaica’s most respected pioneers in financial services.
Describing her as a trailblazer who broke barriers and championed opportunity, the group noted that Duncan believed deeply in the power of empowerment, personal growth and financial independence stressing that her legacy lives on through initiatives like PowHERful Women in Business, which invest in the success and advancement of women entrepreneurs.
Applications for cohort 4 are now open and will close on July 24, 2026. Women entrepreneurs who are ready to invest in themselves, expand their possibilities and join a community of driven and inspiring women are encouraged to apply at https://bit.ly/PowHERful26.
