Thanksgiving service for gospel artiste Kukudoo set for July 19
KINGSTON, Jamaica—The thanksgiving service for gospel singer David ‘Kukudoo’ McDermott will be held at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre on Sunday, July 19.
Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange, made the announcement in a press release on Wednesday.
Minister Grange described Kukudoo as a cultural force whose work celebrated African-derived spiritual traditions within the Jamaican society. She said he was a strong performer who resonated across generations and social backgrounds.
Viewing is set to take place between 9:30 am and 10:30 am.
A tribute concert for Kukudoo will also be held at the same venue on July 14, starting at 7:00 pm.
Tribute was paid to Kukudoo at the recent Labour Day Concert, an event at which he had performed regularly.
