Bresheh unveils racket sports bag collection at Smash Jamaica launch

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Local bag manufacturer Bresheh officially unveiled a new line of bags designed specifically for racket sports on Wednesday at the launch of the inaugural five-tournament badminton event, Smash Jamaica 2026.

The company, which is among the sponsors of the tournament, said the collection represents the start of a long-term partnership with the Jamaica Badminton Association (JBA) and a commitment to supporting the growth of the sport locally.

Speaking at the launch event at Janga’s Soundbar & Grill in Kingston, Bresheh co-founder Randy McLaren said the collaboration was built on shared values.

“At Bresheh, we don’t just make bags…We create products that help to prepare people, that help to support you on your journeys. We look for partners who align with our values. Now, badminton is a lot about discipline and excellence and constant improvement, and these are absolutely values that we admire and aspire to embody ourselves. This partnership felt like a natural fit,” he shared.

Displaying two bags, one in black and another in lavender, McLaren said the collection was developed specifically with badminton and other racket sports in mind, with an emphasis on functionality, durability and premium design.

“So whether you’re training, competing or travelling, we hope that these bags become a trusted companion throughout your sporting journey,” he said.

Crediting his brother, Davian, Bresheh’s lead designer and co-founder, Randy noted that the product features dedicated compartments for rackets, shuttlecocks, shoes, clothing and water bottles.

“So this is more than a product launch. The association will help us to introduce these bags to the badminton community across Jamaica. Bresheh is excited to invest in and support the continued growth of the sport and we hope that this is only the beginning of a long-term relationship between our organisations,” he said.

“At Bresheh, we often say that great products carry more than belongings. They carry purpose, ambition and possibility. We hope that these bags become part of many journeys, many victories and many memories for Jamaica’s badminton community,” he added.

Looking ahead, Randy revealed that the current collection is only the first phase of the company’s expansion into sports accessories.

“And this is just the beginning. Look out for the racket bag. Look out for the duffel, and much more. But we’re listening to the players and the associations in terms of the products that we launch and the features that we also include in the product,” he said.

Bresheh is one of 19 partners supporting Smash Jamaica 2026, which runs from August 5 to 18 at the Alfred Sangster Auditorium at the University of Technology. It will feature five regional and international badminton tournaments.
