The Jamaica Classic Car Club (JCCC) made it a special day for fathers by holding an extended version of its monthly meetings at Hope Gardens, St Andrew, on Sunday, June 21.

“The event went very well. We got more cars than anticipated, but we welcome that. The event was aimed at celebrating fathers in the group and also giving the public the opportunity to participate in this special day as well,” Shane Angus, president, JCCC, told the Jamaica Observer’s weekly Auto magazine.

With around 80 vehicles in attendance, there was a wide assortment to walk down memory lane for fathers of whatever vintage. The rows of cars ranged from Jamaica’s oldest car to modern European, American, and Japanese classics.

JCCC members were more than happy to allow the public to interact with their cars to help fathers build new memories with their families.

“We tried to make it an all-inclusive event, so special thanks to our sponsors Shimo Auto Parts, Lubit Performance, National Bakery, and Automotive Art, for helping to provide refreshments and special giveaways throughout the day,” Angus said.

The feedback has been nothing but positive.

“The members were happy, and they had a good time. Lots of them spent time catching up with friends. As for the public, many persons were happy to take their fathers out. We got a lot of thank-yous and smiling faces as they enjoyed themselves,” he shared.

The JCCC will head out of town this month for their meeting.

“We head to St Ann, to Ultimate Jerk Centre. The tentative date is July 19. We always encourage members from that side of the island to come out. In August, we will be doing our independence motorcade in Kingston,” he added.
