Man found dead after St Mary house fire
ST MARY, Jamaica – St Mary police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found after a house fire in Huddersfield on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as 34 year-old unemployed, Anthony Nelson of a Huddersfield address.
Police reports are that around 4 am, residents saw smoke coming from the house and alerted the Jamaica Fire Brigade. Before emergency teams arrived, residents tried to enter the house to extinguish the fire, but the effort was unsuccessful.
Firefighters later extinguished the blaze.
Nelson’s body was found inside the remains of the house with severe burn injuries. Investigators from the Area Two technical services division processed the scene.
The body was removed for a post mortem to determine the cause of death.
