Reggae Sumfest to honour Fantan Mojah
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Reggae Sumfest will pay tribute to the late reggae artiste Fantan Mojah during A Taste of Reggae Sumfest on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Plantation Cove, St Ann, celebrating the life and legacy of one of Jamaica’s most respected cultural voices.
Fantan Mojah, who passed away on July 14 at the age of 49, was a powerful advocate for conscious reggae music. He most recently performed on the Reggae Sumfest stage in 2025, delivering a memorable performance that reflected his passion, authenticity and unwavering message.
Reggae Sumfest Chief Executive Officer Joe Bogdanovich said the festival is honoured to celebrate the artiste’s contribution to Jamaican music.
“Fantan Mojah was a true soldier for reggae music. His lyrics carried purpose, his performances were heartfelt and his commitment to uplifting people through music never wavered. We are deeply saddened by his passing, and on July 18 we will honour his life, his artistry and the lasting impact he made on reggae and on the Sumfest family. His spirit will forever be part of our stage.”
The tribute will form part of the night’s programme, allowing fans, fellow artistes and the wider reggae community to reflect on and celebrate Fantan Mojah’s enduring musical legacy.
