Jamaican man arrested in New York for allegedly killing his niece over inheritance of family home
A Jamaican man was arrested and charged in connection to the fatal shooting of his 39-year-old niece Julia Anderson in Bronx, New York on Tuesday.
He has been identified as 58-year-old Michael Foster.
According to a report by ABC7 Eyewitness News, Anderson was shot twice in her chest sometime after midnight on Tuesday while in her jeep on Murdock Avenue in the Wakefield section of the Bronx, New York.
It is alleged that the ongoing dispute stems from the inheritance of a family home belonging to Foster’s mother, Icilda Foster, who reportedly passed away in 2023.
Icilda reportedly left the house to her eldest grandchild Anderson which made Foster angry.
According to ABC7 Eyewitness News, Anderson had just completed her 4:00pm to midnight shift and was parked across the street from the family home she shared with Foster when she was shot.
Foster has since been charged with murder, manslaughter and 10 counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
