Run Julie Run to lead home rivals in Mark My Word Trophy
Seven runners are set to contest tomorrow’s $1.25-million Mark My Word Trophy, an Overnight Allowance for three-year-olds and upward over 9 furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m).
Below is the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide’s analysis of each runner and their chances.
1. INTERESTINGTIMESAHEAD: (5 b h by Bold Conquest – My Friend Lucy) – Finished fourth, beaten 11 lengths behind record-breaking Phenomenal Power over 7½ furlongs (1,500m) on July 4. This galloping trip should suit much better and he’s expected to make a brave bid for top honours.
2. INSPIRE FORCE: (USA) (6 ch h by Union Jackson – Exotic Design) – Winless in 11 starts this season. Hard to see that changing here.
3. KING PIYE: (5 ch h by Admiral Alex – Jamaican Pharoah) – Faces a tough task and looks to have no winning chance on form.
4. DIVINE FORCE: (USA) (6 b h by Alternation – Dance America) – Consistent sort who has been finding it hard to locate the winners’ enclosure. Divine Force should run well without threatening to win.
5. RUN JULIE RUN: (5 gr m by Successful Native – Runaway Julie) – Finished third, beaten 2½ lengths, behind Digital One and Dothraki on her seasonal debut on June 20. Run Julie Run should be much fitter for this and is expected to beat these.
6. BOBBYTWOBAD: (4 ch h by Soul Warrior – Miracle Doctor) – Well below this level. Can safely be bypassed.
7. PROVIDENT: (5 ch h by Sensational Slam – Dream Point) – Appears outclassed and is expected to be left behind.
