National champion Demisha Roswell had back-to-back victories in Europe after she won the 100m at Tuesday’s P-T-S Meeting in Banska, Bytricia, Slovakia, a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver event, running 12.54 seconds (1.3m/s).

Roswell’s win came less than a week after she had won at the Luzern meet in Switzerland and was one of six Jamaicans who had podium finishes in Slovakia, including consecutive Olympic Games sprint double winner, Elaine Thompson-Herah and World Indoor medallist Ackeem Blake, both of whom were second.

It was a gold-silver finish for Jamaicans on Tuesday as World Athletics Championships silver medallist Britany Anderson was second in 12.73 seconds and Hungary’s Luca Kozak third with 12.76 seconds.

Blake ran 10.04 seconds (1.5m/s) for the silver medal in the men’s 100m behind South Africa’s Bayanda Walaza, who broke the meet record with 9.98 seconds (1.5m/s), under the previous 9.94 seconds set last year by American Ronnie Baker.

Canada’s Andre De Grasse was third with 10.05 seconds.

Thompson-Herah was the runner-up in the women’s 100m in 11.06 seconds (1.8m/s) as Torrie Lewis broke her own Australian national record of 11.06 seconds when she ran 11.04 seconds.

Former Jamaican representative Christania Williams broke the Austrian national record with 11.06 seconds, erasing the 11.10 seconds held by Isabel Posch.

Williams’ personal best 10.98s was set in 2016 when she represented Jamaica at the Rio Olympics.

Lewis won the sprint double after she also took the 200m in 22.66 seconds (1.5m/s), beating Jamaica’s Lavanya Williams, who was second with 23.13 seconds with Hungary’s Boglarka Takacs third in a season’s best 23.18 seconds.

Tyler Mason was third in the 110m hurdles in 13.47 seconds (0.9m/s) as Austria’s Enzo Diessl won with 13.25 seconds and Japan’s Tatsuki Abe was second with 13.32 seconds.

Nikaoli Williams placed third in the men’s long jump with a wind-aided 7.98m (2.5m/s), Radek Juska of Czechia won with a season’s best 8.18m (1.9m/s), with South Africa’s Luvo Manyonga third with a wind-aided 8.07m (2.2m/s).

Ackelia Smith was fourth in the women’s long jump with 6.48m (-0.1m/s) and Nia Robinson had just one attempt of 6.21m (1.9m/s) before withdrawing from the meet.

Marthe Koala of Burkino Faso won with 6.71m (0.8m/s), followed by Iryna Budzyska of Ukraine with a wind-aided 6.69m (2.1m/s) and Millica Gardasevic of Serbia was third with 6.55m (0.8m/s).
