SEPROD Foundation, with the support of Bacardi, has continued its long-term hurricane recovery efforts in Crawford, St Elizabeth, and Seaford Town, Westmoreland, providing much-needed support to families and communities still recovering from the effects of Hurricane Melissa.

The partnership forms part of Seprod Foundation’s broader recovery programme focused on restoring stability, supporting vulnerable households, and strengthening community resilience in areas significantly impacted by the hurricane.

Through Bacardi’s support, care packages containing essential household and hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, insect spray, canned food, and bottled water were distributed to residents in both communities, helping to ease immediate needs as families continue the process of rebuilding.

The initiative also brought together volunteers from across the Seprod Group, reflecting a shared spirit of service and solidarity. Team members participated in the distribution activities, engaging directly with residents and helping to ensure that support reached those who needed it most.

“After the hurricane, every day feel like starting over. Support like this reminds us that we are not forgotten. These supplies ease some of the burden on our families and give us hope as we continue rebuilding our lives and our community,” said one resident of Crawford who benefited from the initiative.

The distributions in Crawford and Seaford Town also underscored the scale of ongoing need in rural communities, where many families are still navigating the long-term effects of the hurricane.

Seprod Foundation noted that continued collaboration with private-sector partners remains critical to sustaining recovery efforts and expanding support to additional households following the Category 5 storm which hit Jamaica last October.

The foundation has indicated that as communities continue to rebuild it remains committed to working alongside partners like Bacardi to deliver meaningful support where it is needed most.
