THE Board of Governors of Northern Caribbean University (NCU) has announced the appointment of Dr Balvin B Braham as the institution’s next president, effective September 1, 2026.

Dr Braham brings more than three decades of distinguished leadership in higher education, organisational management and faith-based administration. An accomplished executive, educator, pastor and author, he has built an exceptional record of strategic leadership, institutional development, governance, fundraising and executive leadership development throughout the Seventh-day Adventist church in the region as well as worldwide.

A proud alumnus of NCU, Dr Braham holds a Doctor of Education in Organisational Leadership from Argosy University, a Master of Arts in Religion from Andrews University, and both a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and a Diploma in Education from NCU.

Dr Braham currently serves as a vice-president of the Inter-American Division of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Throughout his distinguished career, he has served in numerous leadership roles, including president of the West Jamaica Conference, principal of Savanna-la-Mar High School, and adjunct lecturer at NCU, Andrews University, and the Inter-American Division Theological Seminary. He is the founding local coordinator of NCU’s Western Regional Campus in Montego Bay.

His extensive experience includes service on several governing boards, leadership in educational and church administration, strategic planning, human resource management, public affairs, and executive leadership development.

An internationally respected author and mentor, Dr Braham has published works on leadership and evangelism and has contributed to the development of leaders across the global Seventh-day Adventist church.

Dr Braham succeeds Professor Lincoln Edwards who demitted office as president in May of this year.
