Bigga Little Ochie Seafood Carnival draws record crowd
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Thousands of patrons flocked to Little Ochie in Alligator Pond, Manchester, on July 12 for the 2026 staging of the Bigga Little Ochie Seafood Carnival, with organisers reporting one of the largest turnouts in the event’s history.
According to a news release, the festival, held under the theme “Where Legends Are Born”, surpassed attendance figures from last year’s event, further cementing its reputation as one of Jamaica’s premier culinary and entertainment festivals and a major attraction for both local and overseas visitors.
From early morning, seafood lovers, music enthusiasts and families gathered along the south coast to enjoy a mix of Jamaican cuisine, culture and entertainment. The event featured family-friendly activities, live performances and a wide selection of seafood.

Among the highlights of the festival were performances from Busy Signal, Shaneil Muir and Queen Ifrica.
Busy Signal entertained patrons with a set featuring several of his popular hits, while Shaneil Muir drew applause with her vocal performance and stage presence. Queen Ifrica brought the night’s entertainment to a close with a performance centred on reggae music and conscious lyrics.

“The response this year was simply phenomenal,” the organisers said.
“We welcomed even more patrons than last year, and the energy throughout the day was incredible. From the food and family activities to the entertainment, everything came together to create an unforgettable experience. We are grateful to everyone who travelled from across Jamaica and overseas to celebrate with us.”
The patrons also enjoyed Little Ochie’s renowned seafood offerings, while vendors reported strong sales throughout the day, underscoring the festival’s growing economic impact on the surrounding community.
Organisers said the event continues to play an important role in promoting tourism on Jamaica’s south coast while creating business opportunities for food vendors, artisans, entertainers and entrepreneurs.
They also thanked title sponsor Bigga, along with official sponsors Legend, Rum-Bar, Excelsior, Coca-Cola, Wata, Rainforest and other corporate partners for supporting this year’s staging.
Following the successful event, organisers said preparations are already underway for the 2027 festival as they seek to build on this year’s momentum.
