Damian Marley featured on Barack Obama’s summer playlist 2026

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Reggae artiste Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley was one of dozens of artistes featured on Former United States President Barack Obama’s summer playlist this year.

The playlist, which Obama has shared yearly since 2015 usually has a mix of genres and classics alongside new music.

Marley got the nod for his 2005 collaboration with Nas, Road to Zion, which was featured on his Grammy-winning album, Welcome to Jamrock.

Also featured on the list were girl, get up by Doechii & Sza, Can’t Hide Love by Earth, Wind and Fire, and Rubber Band Man by Mumford & Sons featuring Hozier.

Other Jamaican songs that have been featured on Obama’s previous summer playlists include Koffee’s Toast and Go Down Deh by Spice, Shaggy & Sean Paul.
