PTD, PAJ to battle for Business House domino supremacy
The Post and Telecommunication Department (PTD) and the Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ) will clash in this evening’s highly anticipated Business House Domino Association grand finale, as the 2026 season comes to a close at the Bank of Jamaica.
The championship match, set to begin at 6:30 pm, promises fireworks after both teams delivered dominant semi-final performances last week.
PTD booked their spot with a commanding 48-35 win over the National Housing Trust (NHT), while PAJ overpowered the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information (MOESYI) 58-40 to advance.
In the third place playoff also scheduled for 6:30 pm, NHT and MOESYI will battle for bronze.
President of the National Association of Domino Bodies (NADB) Humbert Davis is expecting a packed house and high-level play to close the season.
“We are calling on all domino lovers to come out and support what is expected to be a very competitive grand finale today,” Davis told the Jamaica Observer.
“Both the final and the third-place match feature teams that have shown tremendous skill and consistency throughout the competition. This is what Business House domino is all about — pride, rivalry, and good sportsmanship,” Davis said.
Davis added that the standard this year has been among the best in recent memory.
“The semi-finals gave us a taste of what’s to come. To see scores like 58-40 and 48-35 tells you the teams came to play. [Friday] should be no different,” he noted.
The NADB boss also praised the participating entities for their continued support of the sport.
“We must big up all the companies and sponsors like Wisynco and Boom for making this league a success. Business House domino continues to grow because of the commitment from the players and the institutions behind them,” he said.
