Cop found dead at May Pen police station
CLARENDON, Jamaica — A police constable assigned to the transport department at the Clarendon Division was found dead with a wound to the neck inside the May Pen Police Station on Monday afternoon.
Preliminary reports are that sometime before 6:00 pm, police personnel had to breach an office door after they became suspicious about the whereabouts of their colleague when the grisly discovery was made.
Up to 8:00 pm, police were processing the scene at the rear of the police station and Clarendon Division headquarters.
Sources say the policeman was reassigned from frontline duties to the transport department following concerns about his mental health.
