Fake Grand Gala usher ad circulating, JCDC warns

KINGSTON, Jamaica—The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, is advising members of the public that an advertisement circulating on social media requesting ushers for Grand Gala celebrations on Thursday, August 6, is fake.

“The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport through its agency JCDC wishes to inform the public that it is not associated with this activity in any way.

As producers of the Independence Grand Gala, JCDC has not issued this public call for ushers and therefore urges Jamaicans to be careful about unauthorised posts such as this. This post is fake news,” the ministry said in a social media post.
