Compass Communication launches Miss 30+ Jamaica Pageant to empower mature women
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Compass Communication (Media) has officially launched the Miss 30+ Jamaica Pageant, a groundbreaking initiative designed to celebrate the beauty, confidence, leadership, and influence of women aged 30 and over while redefining perceptions of ageing across the Caribbean.
Miss 30+ Jamaica/Caribbean is a platform that recognises mature women as mentors, leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, mothers, and community builders whose life experiences uniquely position them to make meaningful contributions to society.
The national winner will go on to represent Jamaica at the inaugural Miss 30+ Caribbean Pageant, scheduled for December 2026, where delegates from across the region will showcase the strength, culture and achievements of mature Caribbean women.
Compass Communication is currently recruiting queens across the Caribbean to participate in the event.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Compass Communication and Event Conceptualiser, Stephanie Elliott-Gunning, believes the pageant comes at a time when society is beginning to recognise the immense value of women beyond their younger years.
“Women, over the centuries, have dreaded ageing. For many, it has meant stepping back. Thankfully, mature women are more forward-thinking, embracing their maturity as learning tools that equip them to become better versions of themselves. Many in society still turn a side eye at mature women commanding leadership roles. This pageant is aimed at helping to change that mindset,” she said.
The Miss 30+ Jamaica Pageant is encouraging women to embrace their authenticity while promoting confidence, personal development, community service, and positive representation. It said contestants will participate in leadership training, motivational workshops, community engagement initiatives, and cultural activities that reinforce the importance of mature women in shaping families, communities and nations.
The organisers said the initiative will also strengthen regional collaboration by creating opportunities for tourism, cultural exchange, entrepreneurship, and economic partnerships throughout the Caribbean.
Applications are now open to women aged 30 years and older, from other Caribbean countries, who possess a positive attitude, a passion for service and a desire to represent their country with pride on the international stage.
