KINGSTON, Jamaica — Reggae singer Kisko Amar-I is encouraging listeners to find strength in adversity with his latest single, Survive the Rain, a roots reggae anthem inspired by resilience, faith and personal growth.

The song was sparked by a conversation with a woman whose words left a lasting impression.

“She told me, ‘I survived the rain and used it to grow’. The moment I heard those words, I knew there was a song in them,” Kisko recalled.

While inspired by her story, the singer said the song also reflects his own journey through financial struggles, personal setbacks and moments that tested his faith.

“I’ve learned that our greatest growth often comes during our hardest seasons. I want people to know that no matter what they’re facing, they can survive the rain.”

Released last Friday, the single is a collaboration between Kisko Amar-I Music and Quality Steel Entertainment, recorded on the Roots Riddim. He is also promoting an updated version of Darkest Cloud, edited to improve its radio appeal while preserving its original message.

Kisko recently completed a week-long promotional tour of Jamaica, where he said the response from the media, DJs and fans exceeded his expectations.

“People genuinely connected with the songs and embraced the message behind them. That encouragement reminded me why I continue making music.”

Born in Steer Town, St Ann, and now based in West Palm Beach, Florida, Kisko has remained committed to uplifting, spiritually conscious reggae.

“My purpose is to use music to elevate people and inspire them to grow,” he said.

Looking ahead, Kisko plans to continue releasing authentic roots reggae while expanding his international touring schedule.

“I’m most proud of my stagecraft and performing with a live band. I want to reach more people with music that inspires and stands the test of time,” he said.
