KINGSTON, Jamaica-Reggae singer Cashan is celebrating a strong first month for her debut album, Here Comes Cashan, as the project continues to attract listeners across Jamaica and overseas while reinforcing her successful transition from dancehall to reggae.

Released just over a month ago, the album has generated positive feedback from fans, DJs and members of the media, with several tracks emerging as favourites among reggae lovers.

“My fans, DJs and the media already know Cashan as a great artiste, but they were amused by how smoothly and effortlessly I transitioned from dancehall to reggae,” she said.

The project showcases Cashan’s versatility, blending roots reggae, contemporary sounds and conscious themes while featuring collaborations with some of reggae’s most respected voices.

Among the biggest highlights is Roaring Lion, her collaboration with reggae veteran Richie Spice. The song recently crossed the one-million-view mark on YouTube, becoming one of the album’s standout successes.

“Yes, Roaring Lion is definitely a standout track. We hit a million views a few days ago,” Cashan said.

Another song attracting significant attention is Changes, featuring Yaksta. Built around themes of social awareness and resilience, the track continues to resonate with listeners who appreciate music with substance.

“Changes is a voice-for-the-voiceless kind of song, so I’m not surprised that so many people connect with it,” she explained.

Cashan’s music is also finding an increasingly international audience. According to the singer, Japan, Canada and England have emerged as the strongest overseas markets streaming Here Comes Cashan, reflecting reggae’s enduring global appeal and the album’s growing reach beyond Jamaica.

Despite the encouraging response, Cashan remains realistic about the challenges facing independent artistes.

“You don’t get certain strength nor opportunities in this music business unless you are trending or established,” she said, noting that while the album has strengthened her profile, she believes there is still more work to be done before larger opportunities begin to materialise.

The momentum surrounding Here Comes Cashan is far from over. Cashan confirmed that another music video from the album will be released later this month, although she is keeping fans guessing about which track will receive the visual treatment.

Looking ahead to the remainder of 2026, the singer promises a steady stream of new music, including what she describes as “a wicked collaboration” with reggae artiste Tuff Like Iron.

“It’s gonna be epic,” she said.
