KINGSTON, Jamaica—Sparkling CranWATA sent sisters Anahi and Ramona Cox to experience Barbados’ Crop Over festival after their cousin transferred her ‘Spark Di Vibes’ promotion prize — a trip for two to the festival — to them.

Anahi and Ramona departed Jamaica from Norman Manley International Airport on August 1 for a seven-day trip, during which they jumped with Krave the Band and attended Dutty Mess J’ouvert. They are scheduled to return on August 7 aboard Caribbean Airlines.

Their cousin, Demoy Blake won the trip through the Sparkling CranWATA “Spark Di Vibes” promotion, which invited consumers to purchase six bottles of Sparkling CranWATA at any of 29 participating locations for a chance to win a trip for two to Barbados for Crop Over.

Rather than taking the trip herself, Blake chose to share the opportunity with her cousins, giving the sisters the chance to travel to Barbados together and experience carnival for the first time.

Ahead of the trip, Anahi, an entrepreneur, said the unexpected gift had allowed her to enjoy an experience that would otherwise have been difficult to pursue at the time.

“I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and want to thank Demoy again. She understands what this means for me and has given me the chance to enjoy the experience without having to worry,” Anahi said. “I am looking forward to the culture, the atmosphere and, of course, the nonstop energy of Crop Over.”

Ramona, a room attendant, admitted that she was initially uncertain when she learnt about the gift but said that excitement quickly took over as the trip became a reality.

“This will be my first real carnival experience, so I am excited to experience Barbados, its culture and the atmosphere surrounding Crop Over,” Ramona shared.

“At first, I was surprised and a little nervous, but now that the trip is here, I am really looking forward to the experience.”

Jusanna Staple, marketing coordinator for the WATA portfolio at Wisynco Group, said the promotion was created to give consumers an opportunity to experience one of the Caribbean’s most recognised cultural celebrations.
