CODA Network launches Filmmaker Spotlight Series
...debuts with award-winning Jamaican creative JP Williams
LOS ANGELES, United States — CODA Network, the global streaming platform for Caribbean and culture-driven entertainment, has officially launched its new Filmmaker Spotlight Series, debuting with award-winning Jamaican film-maker and writer JP Williams.
Created to champion Caribbean film-makers and bring greater visibility to their work, the Filmmaker Spotlight Series gives audiences a dedicated destination to discover both the films and the creative voices behind them.
Williams’ curated collection is now streaming on CODA Network, anchored by his award-winning short film
BLV, winner at FilmGood 2024, alongside Uhuru; I Love Jamaica; and Catch the Vibe.

“At CODA, we believe discovery has to extend beyond simply putting a film on a platform,” said Lexi Chow, founder & CEO of CODA Network. “Filmmaker Spotlight allows us to create a dedicated space for the work while also introducing audiences to the person behind it. We want viewers around the world to discover these film-makers, understand their journeys, and ultimately seek out more of their work.”
As part of his Spotlight, CODA also sat down with Williams at Abundance Labs, his newly established Los Angeles creative studio for an original one-on-one conversation exploring his journey as a Jamaican film-maker, his creative process, the stories that inspire him and his vision for what comes next.
The conversation will premiere next on CODA, expanding the Spotlight beyond the films themselves and giving audiences an opportunity to get to know the film-maker behind the work.
Founded by Williams, Abundance Labs serves as a creative home for film-makers, artists and innovators working across film, commercials, web series, podcasts, and emerging media. The studio reflects Williams’ broader commitment to developing original intellectual property while creating an environment for collaboration, experimentation, and new ideas.
The launch with Williams marks the beginning of an ongoing CODA Filmmaker Spotlight Series, with additional film-makers and curated collections planned. The initiative is designed to build a growing destination where audiences can discover Caribbean and Diaspora film-makers through both their work and their individual creative journeys.
