BWE organisers respond to viral fight video, reaffirms commitment to patron safety
ST ANN, Jamaica – The directors of party series Best Weekend Ever (BWE) has expressed disappointment and regret over a physical altercation involving patrons at its beach event on Sunday.
Videos of the incident have been widely circulated on social media, showing a group of men engaged in a brawl.
In a media release Monday, the party organisers said, “Best Weekend Ever has never condoned, and we abhor the proliferation of violence of any kind at our events.
“We are extremely disappointed and sincerely regret that this unfortunate and isolated situation has occurred,” the release continued. “We have contacted the family of those affected and the individuals involved in the altercation have been clearly identified, and the relevant actions will be pursued by the designated authority.”
According to the directors, over the years, BWE has established a strong track record of providing safe, well-managed entertainment experiences for thousands of patrons.
“The safety and security of our guests remain a priority, and this incident is not reflective of the culture of Best Weekend Ever or the experience we work diligently to provide,” they said.
The directors also sought to clarify that, contrary to some narratives circulating, the MC at the event “brought attention to the incident to allow the appropriate intervention to take place and we have made our team available to the relevant authorities to assist in the process of ensuring this does not reoccur.”
According to the release, throughout the staging of Best Weekend Ever 2026, the events have been enjoyed safely by thousands of patrons with improved traffic management and movement between events.
“We are also grateful for the positive feedback from patrons which is an indication of the high level of satisfaction with the production of the event series,” the organisers said.
“Additional security measures have been put in place for the final event being staged today,” they added. “We thank our patrons, partners, security teams and stakeholders for their support as we continue to remain committed to delivering an environment where everyone can celebrate responsibly and safely.”
