KFTL working with police after $1 billion cocaine bust
KINGSTON, Jamaica—The Kingston Freeport Terminal Limited (KFTL) has confirmed that six people were taken into custody following a joint operation at the Kingston Container Terminal on Friday, August 7, after irregularities were identified during routine and enhanced security monitoring.
“In response, the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Firearm and Narcotics Investigation Division (FNID) and the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) conducted a joint operation at the facility on Friday, 7, August 2026, during which six individuals were taken in for questioning,” said KFTL in a press release on Monday.
The KFTL said it cannot comment on the details at the time as the matter is currently under investigation.
“We will continue to cooperate with the appropriate authorities and provide updates when appropriate,” KFTL said.
