KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 36-year-old car dealer has been charged with simple larceny after allegedly returning to the home of a client and reclaiming a vehicle he had agreed to sell citing the clients non payment.

Charged is Anthony Ximines of a Mandeville, Manchester address.

According to the Savanna-la-Mar police, between July and August 2022, a man purchased a 2017 red Jaguar from Ximines, a car-mart dealer, for $5.2 million.

The man reportedly paid $3.4 million, with a verbal agreement that Ximines would sign over the vehicle’s title before the remaining $1.4 million was paid.

It is alleged that sometime in May 2026, Ximines went to the complainant’s home while in possession of a spare key and drove away the vehicle without his consent.

The complainant later contacted Ximines and was allegedly told that he would have to pay the outstanding $1.4 million before the vehicle would be returned.

The matter was subsequently reported to the police.

On Tuesday, August 11, a police team conducted a targeted operation at Ximines’ residence, where he was arrested. He was taken to the Savanna-la-Mar Police Station and subsequently charged.

His court date is being finalised.
