Ai Milly’s Old Milly offers retrospective on his life
Over the past three years, trap/dancehall artiste Ai Milly has led the trap music revolution on the north coast.
Songs including Trappest Life, Mi Amor, Maddest Life, and Henney Energy, have kept his name buzzing among the new generation of music lovers.
The former Oracabessa High student released his third album, Old Milly, on July 14 via Dethwrld Records, Catalog Music Group and Krush Flo Records.
The 17-track album blends gritty street narratives with melodic flows and modern trap beats, and features songs that tap deep into the artiste’s life and experiences.
The producers that he worked with include Conni Music Group, Di Truth Records, El Dunce Records, Bhad Gad Records, DNJ Records, Dethwrld Records, Catalog Music Group, and Fada Reid.
Commenting on the inspiration behind the album’s title, Ai Milly told the Jamaica Observer earlier this week that, “The title of the album came from life changes and maturing. I am a grown adult, and I have been through many changes in my life. This album is about those changes, maturity and growth.”
The project took less than a month to complete.
Tracks on the album include the current trending hit Mute, Stars, Perfect Timing, Purple Rain, Bruce Wayne, National Anthem, Everything She Want, Villain or Hero, NDMD, Darkest Love, Hellfire, and
Euphoria.
Old Milly recently debuted at #1 on Apple Music Jamaica. It currently holds the #4 position.
