Nicole Landry touts Chakra for healing
The global popularity of yoga has prompted interest in other meditative exercises such as Chakra, a healing process linked to seven energy centres of the body.
Nicole Landry, a Canadian of Jamaican heritage, has written journals based on its benefits. The Chakra Healing Collection was released in late 2024 to introduce the discipline to people seeking physical health and spiritual well-being.
The journals explore Chakra’s core centres — Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye and Crown.
“I am currently exploring opportunities to bring my retreat experiences back to Jamaica, a place that has always held a special place in my heart. My hope is to create experiences that support personal growth and transformation while also giving back to the local communities and businesses that make those experiences possible,” Landry told Observer Online. “To me, that is a legacy, and one I hope to build in honour of my father.”
Landry, who worked for 15 years as a nurse, was born and raised in Alberta, Canada. Her father, who was from Waterhouse in Kingston, settled in that West Canada province at age 20 and raised a family there.
The Chakra Healing Collection is the latest initiative from Journey of Altman, a company Landry started in 2020. Its initial items were wellness products such as scented candles which she credits with helping her recover from an abusive relationship.
That spurred her interest in Chakra and its central points.
“I view Chakra healing as the practice of bringing awareness to the patterns that influence how we experience ourselves and the world around us. Each energy centre is associated with different aspects of our emotional, physical, spiritual, and relational experiences,” Landry disclosed. “For example, the Root Chakra is often connected to safety, stability, and belonging, while the Solar Plexus relates to confidence, self-worth, and personal power. The Heart Chakra explores themes of trust, grief, and connection, while the Throat Chakra focuses on self-expression and authenticity.”
The Chakra Healing Collection is available in paperback format through Amazon and the Journey of Atman online store.
