WATCH: Fire destroys several shops at Redemption Market
KINGSTON, Jamaica—An early morning fire destroyed several shops at Redemption Market in downtown Kingston early Sunday morning.
Public Relations Officer for the Jamaica Fire Brigade, Emilio Eubanks told Observer Online that a bar, shops and stalls were razed.
“We received the call at 4:10 am and we responded with four units. When we arrived on the scene we saw shops, which were mainly container shops on fire. We got into operation and the fire was brought under control and extinguished,” he said.
No injuries were reported in the incident and the cause of the fire is not yet known.
