Jamaica qualify for CFU U14 semis
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Defending champions Jamaica are through to the semi-finals of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Under-14 Boys Tier 1 Challenge Series in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic after beating Curacao 2-0 on Wednesday to complete a clean sweep of their Group C games.
The semi-finals are set for Friday after Thursday’s rest day and Jamaica’s opponent will be known following the completion of all the groups.
Jaheem Brown gave Jamaica the lead in the 28th minute with a well-taken goal from midway the Curacao 18-yard area, firing a left-footed shot back across the area into the far corner.
Basil Trail had provided the assist from the left side after getting by two defenders.
Jamaica secured all three points in the 67th minute after a brilliant piece of individual skill from midfielder Makiri D’Aguilar, taking a short corner on the left, dribbling past several defenders before finding fellow substitute Tai-Sean Headley to volley into the goal from about six yards out.
