JCPD announces head office relocation
KINGSTON, Jamaica—The Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities (JCPD) has announced the relocation of its head office from 10 Ripon Road to 1C-1F Pawsey Road, Kingston 5.
The transition process is now under way, with operations at the new location scheduled to commence on Tuesday, September 1.
During the transition period, the JCPD will continue to provide services to the public at its current head office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, through to Wednesday, September 30.
All other JCPD offices across the island will continue to operate on their regular schedules.
Clients with scheduled appointments will be contacted directly should any adjustments become necessary.
The organisation’s telephone numbers, email addresses and online contact channels will remain unchanged.
Executive director, Dr Christine Hendricks, emphasised that accessibility is central to the renovation of the new headquarters.
“Our new home is being renovated with accessibility as a non-negotiable feature, in keeping with our mandate to persons with disabilities. We want our clients, stakeholders, and partners to know that while our location is changing, our dedication to serving persons with disabilities remains constant,” she said.
Members of the public are encouraged to stay informed about the relocation and interim service arrangements by visiting the JCPD’s website, following its social media platforms, or contacting their nearest parish office.
“This move represents a significant step in strengthening the council’s ability to serve persons with disabilities, ensuring that its facilities reflect the values of inclusion, dignity, and accessibility,” Dr Hendricks stated.
