After his eye-catching run in the Jamaica Derby Classic on August 6, I Love Birdie returns to take on five rivals in the $1.1-million Caymanas Park 1959 on Saturday.

The race is a Restricted Allowance II for native-bred 3-y-o non-winners of 2 and imported 3-y-o and upward maidens over 1 mile (1,600m).

The Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide analyses the runners:

1. ONE IANZHA LINKS: (3 b f by Casual Trick – Nippit) – Finished 11 lengths second behind Victorious Links over 6 furlongs (1,200m) on August 8. Steps up in trip and class, she should be left behind here.

2. ABUDAR: (3 b c by Savoy Stomp – Ship Sham) – Consistent. Abudar was 11 lengths second to foreigner Unbelievable Power over 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m) on August 6. Should welcome the mile and is the most likely to chase the favourite home.

3. RED THIRTYTWO : (3 b c by Hedge Fund – Roses for Elle) – Can safely be bypassed on current form.

4. I LOVE BIRDIE: (3 b c by Savoy Stomp – Birdie My Love) – The standout here.
I Love Birdie finished 1 ½ lengths third behind London Spirit and in the Jamaica Derby over 12 furlongs (2,400m) on August 6. Drops massively in class here and with that Derby form, he should be very hard to beat.

5. JUVENTUS ONE: (3 b c by Savoy Stomp – Texas Missy) – Not expected to be a major player.

6. MINNEHA: (3 b f by Savoy Stomp – Red Gold) – Finished fourth in the Jamaica Oaks over 10 furlongs (2,000) on August 1. Stays at a mile and should run on for a minor share, but has a lot to find with I Love Birdie.
