Michael Wright, who played Eddie King Jr in The Five Heartbeats, has died at 70, his family said in a statement.
“It is with profound sadness and an unimaginable heaviness in my heart that I share the passing of my beloved husband, Michael Wright,” his wife Susan wrote Friday, according to an NBC4 Los Angeles report.

The actor’s cause of death has not been revealed but Wright’s wife committed to providing more details in the coming days.
“In the coming days, when we are ready, we will share additional information regarding Michael’s life, legacy, and how we intend to honour and celebrate him,” she wrote.
