‘Gal Policy’ featured in 50 Cent’s ‘Fightland’
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Popular dancehall producer Jahvy Ambassador is celebrating another international milestone after Gal Policy by Kranium, which he produced, was featured in 50 Cent’s crime drama series Fightland.
Gal Policy was produced on Jahvy Ambassador’s Soul Survivor Riddim and has remained one of Kranium’s notable releases years after its initial debut. For Jahvy, whose given name is Jahvel Morrison, the placement is further proof of the record’s longevity and international appeal.
“It’s an amazing feeling. I’m delighted to know that even years after its release, it’s still able to be an impactful record in the global space,” Jahvy Ambassador said.
The opportunity came through the producer’s publishing team, which approached him about securing the song for the series.
“My team is always working, so I’m grateful. When I saw my publisher reach out to me with a sync deal opportunity, I didn’t hesitate,” he shared.
The placement introduces the Jamaican-produced record to another international audience through television and represents another example of dancehall finding its way into major global entertainment productions.
Jahvy Ambassador believes the achievement also speaks to the continued strength and relevance of Jamaican music beyond the island’s shores.
“It says that we are a genre to be reckoned with globally, as our music is competing in the same spaces as other genres in the global market,” he said.
The producer has steadily established his name within contemporary dancehall through his work with several recording artistes and projects. The continued success of Gal Policy is particularly meaningful as the song remains capable of creating new opportunities years after its release.
Its inclusion in Fightland also highlights the growing possibilities presented by sync licensing, which allows existing music to reach new audiences through film, television and other visual productions.
For Jahvy Ambassador, the latest accomplishment is motivation to continue building his catalogue and expanding the international reach of his productions.
He is already working on several upcoming releases, though he is keeping details under wraps for now.
“Right now, I’m working on a lot of new music. I’m excited to share it with the fans soon,” he said.
Jahvy Ambassador also expressed gratitude to the listeners who have continued to support his work throughout his career.
“I just wanna say thank you and continue supporting the music that I make. It means a lot, and I’ll continue to make the fans proud,” he said.
With Gal Policy now adding an international television placement to its journey, Jahvy Ambassador sees the achievement as another indication that dancehall records can continue travelling and creating an impact long after their initial release.
