JOCKEY Shane Richardson rode a noticeable double at Caymanas Park on Saturday, August 22, 2026, winning aboard odds-on favourite I Realise and 22-1 outsider The Gifted One. The brace pushed Richardson’s seasonal tally to eight winners.

Richardson’s first winner came in the third race — Division 1 of a three-year-old and upward Optional Claiming ($700,000-$600,000) event that included native-bred five-year-olds, imported six-year-olds and upward (non-winners of four), and imported five-year-olds (non-winners of three) over seven furlongs (1,400m).

Sent off at 1-9 I Realise, trained by Peter-John Parsard, made one move to win easily by 14¾ lengths over Money Monster (Phillip Parchment) and Noble Sovereign (Calvin Bailey). The winning time was 1:28.2 (24.1 x 48.0 x 1:14.1).

I Realise is a seven-year-old bay gelding bred by Northern Giant out of the Royal Minister mare Regina Royale. He was winning for the sixth time from 27 starts, with Stakes earnings of over $4.8 million.

Richardson completed his double in the fifth race — Division II of a three-year-old and upward Optional Claiming ($350,000-$250,000) spread that included six-year-olds and upward (non-winners of four) over four furlongs (800m).

The Gifted One, a seven-year-old bay horse by Buzz Nightmare out of Venice Mellesa, was ignored in the betting but the Anthony Dixon trainee proved the public wrong. The Gifted One disputed the early lead then sprinted clear crossing the dummy rails to win by 3¾ lengths.

Tuts (Evertte Clunis) was second, and Storm A Come (Richie Shakes) third. The final time was 49.2 and splits were 24.3 x 36.0. It was The Gifted One’s third career win from 60 starts, with Stakes earnings over $2.3 million.
