WATCH: Funeral service underway for Vincent George Chen
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Hundreds of mourners, including business leaders, are now gathered at Saint Paul of the Cross Cathedral in Mandeville for the thanksgiving service of business patriarch Vincent George Chen.
Chen, the father of Super Plus chairman Wayne Chen and husband of the late Hyacinth Gloria Chen, died on August 17 at age 96.
Together, the couple raised nine children, namely National Commercial Bank Chairman Michael Lee-Chin, Wayne Chen, Charles Chen, Jody Chen, Lisa Chen, Bobby Chen, Collin Chen, Jeremy Chen and Richard Chen.
The couple also founded Super Plus Food Stores and created a legacy for their nine children.
Scores of business, health, education and civic leaders are among those in attendance at the thanksgiving service.
