KINGSTON, Jamaica—Grace to Grow Mentorship & Training Limited is recruiting women to participate in the next cohort of its mentorship programme, which starts on Saturday, September 5.

The 12-week programme is for women seeking guidance and clarity regarding their next move–in their professional lives as well as personal lives.

Participants are provided with leadership development, financial management and entrepreneurial/business training, counselling, and spiritual and wellness support. The Grace to Grow programme is free to participants.

“This is a faith-based programme for women seeking another chance to thrive,” explained Founder & CEO of Grace to Grow Mentorship & Training Limited, Heneka Watkis-Porter.

“It’s for women who are unsure of their purpose or who have become distracted by misfortune and disappointment on their journey. The Grace to Grow programme is a 12-week pathway to spiritual, emotional, and economic renewal for these women. It gives participants an opportunity to get back on track, build critical skill sets, and move forward with confidence,” she said.

Since its establishment in May 2022, Grace to Grow has directly impacted over 150 women across Jamaica, the United States and Africa. The curriculum is delivered entirely online by local and overseas volunteers who are subject matter experts and leaders in their respective fields.

Graduates of the Grace to Grow programme report that it has equipped them to get to the next level in their careers or entrepreneurship journeys. Over 80 per cent of participants report that they stay connected to the programme even after they graduate – many as mentors for new participants.

Delmaris White, who recently completed the programme, said “Grace to Grow taught me that I could be whoever I wanted to become in any space I needed to be in. The tutors were incredible – they were well informed and accessible. One of the most important elements of the programme were the women in the room. They showed me that I was not alone. They showed me that my stories were also their stories. Together we were able to build a space where honesty wasn’t scary. In fact, it was freeing. Grace to Grow helped me to say “Yes” to myself. It gave me permission to take up space, to speak in rooms where my voice used to disappear, to grow brighter in spaces where usually I would feel unseen. Today I walk in every room proudly, knowing that I belong there,” she declared.

Another participant, Shaquila Wright, said the Grace to Grow programme helped her to grow personally, build confidence and develop skills such as public speaking and financial management.

“I’m truly grateful for the experience, the lessons, and the amazing people that I met along the way. Grace to Grow reminded me that growth is a journey and that every step matters,” she said.

Abigail Mateland, who was a member of Cohort 8, shared that in the Grace to Grow programme, she met women who were at all ages and stages of their lives, which made her feel very comfortable.

“The thing that really got me was that the facilitators were just regular people like me who had done the work to transform their lives to get to where they wanted to go. I feel confident that if they can do it, so can I. I would really recommend this programme to everyone – the community, the sharing, the advice from both participants and facilitators – everything was so good. If I could do the programme all over again, I definitely would!” she indicated.
