Man fatally shot by police in Cobbla, Manchester

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A man was fatally shot by the police during an alleged confrontation in Cobbla, Manchester Saturday morning.

Police named the man as Damion Rose, 39, a resident of Cobbla.

Preliminary reports are that about 12:40 am police personnel assigned to the Firearms Narcotics and Investigation Division (FNID) accosted Rose when he allegedly pulled a ratchet knife on cops and was shot.

He was pronounced dead at the nearby Percy Junor Hospital on the Clarendon/ Manchester border.
