Manchester man charged in alleged murder plot caught on voicenote
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Detectives in Manchester have charged 53-year-old farmer Paul Malcolm with conspiracy to murder after he reportedly sent a voice message plotting to kill a 43-year-old man in Pike, northern Manchester.
Police say they were able to foil the murder plot and gather evidence after the accused sent a voice note to another person via WhatsApp last Tuesday, planning to rob and kill the 43-year-old man on Saturday, August 29.
Police said the accused confessed to accidentally sending the voicenote to a farmers’ group prompting an investigation.
Malcom, otherwise called “Bumpa”, was subsequently charged on Friday with conspiracy to murder and using computer data for malicious communication.
Police said Malcolm gave a caution statement confessing to the offences and participated in a question and answer session.
