DREAMBEACHDREAMING made it look like just that, a dream, as the three-year-old American-bred bay colt announced himself on local soil with a dominant debut win in a Restricted Allowance II contest at Caymanas Park on Saturday, August 29.

Trained by Spencer Chung and ridden by Ian Spence, Dreambeachdreaming was slow into stride at the off and raced in mid-pack early. Social Storm (Tevin Foster) set the pace into the half-mile (800m) turn, ahead of Tom Strong (Evertte Clunis) and Dashallday (Raddesh Roman).

Dashallday took over when turning for home but Dreambeachdreaming was just getting started. After being surrounded at the top of the lane, Spence angled him to the outside and the colt exploded.

He powered past rivals and drew away with authority to win easily by 5½ lengths in the 5½-furlong (1,100m) race for native-bred three-year-olds (non-winners of two) and imported three-year-olds and upward (maidens).

Dashallday held second, with Mo Pai (Tajay Suckoo) finishing third. The final time was 1:07.3 with splits of 23.3 x 48.1 x 1:00.4 — a very solid debut clocking.
